Since the FDA’s approval of the first genetically modified crop (a tobacco plant) in 1982, opponents of the practice have foreseen a gloomy future as its inevitable use on humans was sure to come. Although it sounds a bit science-fiction, the biotech company Editas Medicine announced its plans to move forward with “breakthrough” transgenic human trials by 2017 to correct vision of blind patients.
Editas Medicine, which is based in the US, said it plans to become the first lab in the world to ‘genetically edit’ the DNA of patients suffering from a genetic condition – in this case the blinding disorder ‘leber congenital amaurosis’.
Some say there is veritable proof that genetically modified humans are already walking among us.
Eugenics Concerns
Healing the blind is a great thing – who could argue? Jesus was said to have healed the blind. But if this practice becomes accepted in mainstream medicine like abortion, for instance, who will decide what genetic traits are favorable or undesirable? Will that decision belong to parents or the State?
Government would probably be the first to step in. Tax dollars would be used to develop super soldiers and weaponized squadrons. We’ve seen the creation of “climate police” whose job it is to punish people for “crimes against the environment” (although corporations are off the hook). Could there be the creation of “gene cops” that enforce eugenics policies?
A Scientific American report in 2010 called for mass abortion and birth control policies which were embraced by the United Nations.
Bokanovsky’s Process [genetic engineering] is one of the major instruments of social stability! … ‘And that,’ put in the Director sententiously, ‘that is the secret of happiness and virtue— liking what you’ve got to do. All conditioning aims at that: making people like their unescapable social destiny.’ – Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World
Human Farming
Certainly the free market would partially dictate what direction this technology would take. Is it possible that black markets could arise for organ harvesting as seen in the xultation scene in Cloud Atlas?
The geonomics industry demands a huge quantity of biomatter for wombtanks. More importantly, to sustain the engineered labor force. Recycled fabricants are a cheap source of protein.
Some believe this technology will eventually lead to human farming. This is more than just conspiracy theory; there are companies openly pursuing this right now and boasting of the strides they have made.
Scientists are creating artificial micro-humans that will eliminate the need for using animals in laboratory testing. The artificial human machines, each the size of a microchip, will simulate the response of humans to substances inhaled, absorbed in the gut or circulated through the bloodstream. Early versions comprising an artificial lung, liver, kidney, heart and gut are already being used to test cosmetics, chemicals and drugs, researchers said. “Farms” made up of hundreds of artificial human machines could begin replacing animal laboratories within three years, doing away with the need for experiments that claim the lives of up to 90m animals each year, ‘The Times’ reported.
A Culture of Vanity
Healing genetic defects that lead to pain and disease would be one thing, but what about the aesthetic whims of a superficial culture? Will gene splicing replace plastic surgery for those willing to fork over the cash to undergo the procedure? And what about parents selecting the traits of their children? Will parents have the authority to genetically modify their children until they turn 18?
Genetic Alchemy
In mythopoetic lore, the Philosopher’s Stone was said to be the instrument of alchemy. It was said to turn lead to gold. Gene splicing is an attempt at alchemy in which base matter (gene markers) are swapped by the ambitious disciples of scientism, the dogmatic loyalty to “scientific” conclusions that are corrupted, outdated, or unverifiable.
Mark Passio’s Cosmic Abandonment & Interference Theory
In Mark Passio’s ambitious presentation “Cosmic Abandonment – An Explanatory Synthesis Regarding Human Origins, Psychopathy, Slavery And The Current Psychological And Social Conditions Of Humanity,” he propounds that human development was genetically interfered with by extraterrestrials in our distant past. This is perhaps a plausible interpretation of the Book of Genesis and the creation of Adam. Ergo, these extraterrestrials thusly became our species’ cosmic parents. Upon leaving the planet and the human race behind, the collective unconscious was imprinted with a perverse association with our parental ET geneticists. Like all children who grow up in the harsh conditions of a broken home, a dysfunction family, or in the vacuum of absentee parents, mankind has behaved in all sorts of abhorrent self-destructive behavior.
This begs the questions: is man striving to imitate his ET parents with these attempts at genetic manipulation? Is this an archetypal imbalance within the masculinized science community to “create life” to compensate for his inability to give birth like womankind? Are there occult ritualistic motives behind the tampering of human DNA? Are the flagitious rulers of the world who claim blood-ties to the Annunaki and walk the “red carpet” merely throwing a temper tantrum and lashing out at their ET parents? Or are they diligently working to restore the “missing pieces” of alien DNA to reunite with their long lost cosmic kin? Regardless of the motives, we must remember that just because a project is pursued “in the name of science,” if it is not rooted in ethics or vetted by philosophy than it should not be pursued at all.
