At man’s core, he has a great longing for mystery; And at Earth’s core, he may just find it. Man has forever contemplated his place in creation, examining the forces of nature and reaching for answers in the unknown. Today we are going to examine one of the most fascinating topics of all time regarding our home planet – one that challenges the mind and teases the imagination.
As Above, So Below
Today, we will discuss the prospect of Inner Earth civilizations, a controversial idea propounded by some scientists, independent investigators, whistleblowers, and internet-dwelling conspiracy theorists alike. Inner Earth proponents posit that the we humans are not alone on spaceship Earth, and that we don’t need to look beyond the stars to find our kin. The tantalizing prospect of intraterrestrials may be uncomfortable to some, exhilarating to others, and patently absurd to most. Some insist that Earth’s composition is not one of increasing density, pressure, and heat the closer to the core that you explore. Instead, they claim, Earth has cavities that house life on scales that rival the surface of the planet. This porous planetary profile contains ecosystems with a diversity of biological organisms and potentially subterranean civilizations of sentient lifeforms. Some say we have compelling evidence that leads us to conclude we may one day explore these ecosystems; others say we already have.
The following presentation of Inner Earth material is not meant to pass as a proof. Rather, this presentation invites your imagination into a fabled world of entertaining theories and mythologies that instill childlike wonder about our home planet, a place we think we know inside and out. I am but an armchair researcher using the internet as my treasure map, sharing with you the curious and the fantastical. This is a collection of various intriguing concepts meant to introduce the newcomer to the vast and unfamiliar subject in an organized manner. Let’s dig deep, shall we?
This presentation is categorized into 5 sections. First, we shed light on the two totally distinct theories on Inner Earth (henceforth abbreviated as IE): Hollow Earth and Honeycomb Earth (this clarifies our vocabulary as the two distinctions are often misused or conflated). Next, we wade into the subject with a cursory historical introduction. Then we travel back to antiquity to consolidate and analyze various mythological references to IE and IE civilizations. Next, we examine a selection of scientific theories and evidence supporting IE’s plausibility, followed by some conspiratorial clues and interesting evidence hinting at a possible cover-up. Finally, we dive into some juicy anecdotal testimonies and written accounts in modern times.
So now, let’s talk about Inner Earth Civilizations.
Hollow Moon: A Starting Point for Our Exploration
We actually begin our investigation of IE not terrestrially, but by taking a brief detour to our nearest celestial neighbor, the moon. There is an old expression that “the moon is made of cheese.” Obviously, this is in reference to the craters on the surface of the moon that resemble Swiss cheese. However, what if it was not just the surface of the moon that was riddled with holes? Rather, what if the entire moon itself was hollow? If this is a weird question to you, then you might not have heard that moon has been described as hollow by NASA, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), mathematicians, independent astronomers, and government whistleblowers alike. There have been reports of bottomless craters and other anomalies which may hint at a greater mystery.
Even Wikipedia has a page dedicated to the hollow moon discussion.
“Between 1972 and 1977, seismometers installed on the Moon by the Apollo missions recorded moonquakes. The Moon was described as “ringing like a bell” during some of those quakes, specifically the shallow ones.[16] This phrase was brought to popular attention in March 1970,[1] in an article in Popular Science.[17] When Apollo 12 deliberately crashed the Ascent Stage of its Lunar Module onto the Moon’s surface, it was claimed that the Moon rang like a bell for an hour, leading to arguments that it must be hollow like a bell.[1] Lunar seismology experiments since then have shown that the lunar body has shallow moonquakes that act differently from quakes on Earth, due to differences in texture, type and density of the planetary strata, but mainstream science asserts that sufficient evidence of any large empty space inside the body has not yet been observed.“
What if these assertions are true? What would be the implications of a hollow celestial body in our own backyard? What could the moon’s hollowness tell us about the structure of our home planet? Are some planetary bodies solid while others are hollow, or do they all share a similar honeycomb structure? This is, after all, one of the reasons Pluto was deemed to no longer be a planet in 2006.
Hollow Earth versus Honeycomb Earth
Now, let’s talk about Earth. Right off the bat, IE subscribers are divided into two camps so let’s get our vocabulary straight. There are Hollow Earth proponents and Honeycomb Earth proponents. The Hollow Earth model has several key features: a toroidal planet with two large holes at either pole, an inversion of gravity on the interior (or centrifugal force) which makes life habitable on the interior of the crust, and a gaseous or molten core (often described as a “smokey sun”) suspended within the hollowed out planet providing light and warmth for the interior.
The Honeycomb Earth model is much different. Proponents will describe the planet as having a vast system of interconnected caverns that comprise a navigable network of underground chambers capable of housing biological life.
Personally, I don’t care what the shape of the planet is, whether it is hollow or honeycomb. The point of this presentation is not to conclude one way or another the exactitude of our planet’s composition, and hopefully this material does not get lumped in with flat earth theory or anything of that nature. This presentation is solely designed to investigate the plausibility that other sentient lifeforms share space with us on this otherwise lonely space rock.
HISTORICAL INTRODUCTION
Sir Edmond Haley (1656-1742) – Father of HE Theory
On January 1, 1686, astronomer Edmund Halley, known today for the discovery of Halley’s Comet, published a paper in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London 17:563-578 entitled An Account of the cause of the change of the variation of the Magnetical Needle with an Hypothesis of the Structure of the Internal parts of the Earth; as it was proposed to the Royal Society in one of their late Meetings.
In his paper, Halley discussed the well-known phenomenon of anomalous magnetic activity near the poles and cited many such observances dating back over 130 years to 1550 when such anomalies began to be recorded. To rectify this inexplicable behavior, Halley proposed that the Earth was made up of concentric spheres, each moving independently from one another. In his model, the Earth did not have two magnetic poles, but four.
Until this time, pre-Hallian scientists simply deduced that the needle of a compass behaved differently due to interference from iron deposits in the Earth’s crust or from a large “loadstone” deep within the planet.
Another problem that Halley attempted to remedy was Sir Isaac Newton’s proposed relative densities of the moon and Earth, which seemed to make no sense why the moon’s density was greater than the Earth’s.
Halley postulated that the earth we walk on is a hollow shell about 500 miles thick, with two inner concentric shells and an innermost core. These shells are separated by atmospheres, and each has its own magnetic poles. The spheres rotate at different speeds, thus accounting for long-term magnetic field variations. Halley even suggested that each sphere “might support life,” because the spheres were bathed in perpetual light from a luminous gaseous atmosphere that filled all of the inner spaces. He even entertained the possibility of “more ample creation” within the earth, which might include suns.
Leonhard Euler (1707-1783)
At the time, the Enlightenment Period was changing much of the way we looked at the universe and our place in it. Revolutions in science and philosophy were sweeping across the West and the mysteries that had plagued the modern world were being addressed scientifically for the first time. Edmund Halley’s explanation for this anomaly regarding the magnetic behavior at the poles was highly unpopular within the scientific community and many others stepped for with their own theories. In fact, Britain had offered a reward for the first scientist to solve the problem.
Leonhard Euler was the next in line to take a swing at the magnetism dilemma. Euler wrote prolifically on the subject beginning in 1761 and helped devise a theory of his own.
In Letter XL, on page 136 of Letters of Euler on Different Subjects in Natural Philosophy published in 1835, 52 years after his death, Euler wrote,
“As you must unquestionably have heard frequent mention made of the celebrated problem of the longitude, for the solution of which the British nation has proposed a most magnificent premium, I presume that my labour will not be wholly thrown away if I employ it in laying before you a fair state of that important question.”
Leonhard Euler made frequent reference of Halley’s work in his writings. Euler assumed that due to advancements made in geographical measurement, presumptions of the exact location of the poles made by Halley and his contemporaries were inaccurate.
On October 24, 1761, Euler wrote,
“There is no occasion, therefore, for a double loadstone within the Earth, or for four magnetic poles, in order to explain the declination of magnetic needles, as Halley supposed; but for a simple magnet, or two magnetic poles, provided its just place is assigned to each. It appears to me, that, from this reflection, we are much more advanced in our knowledge of magnetisim.”
Sir John Leslie (1766-1832)
In 1829, Sir John Leslie speculated about a hollow Earth structure in his book Elements of Natural Philosopohy including Mechanics and Hydrostatics, where he wrote,
”It seems, therefore, to follow conclusively, that our planet must have a very widely cavernous structure, and that we tread on a crust or shell whose thickness bears but a very small proportion to the diameter of the sphere. Physical Science can extend her prospects to the farthest verge of possibilities; but Chemistry, even in its present advanced stage, fails altogether in aiding inquiry; and the various hypotheses framed by Geologists are built with such scanty and slender materials, as to furnish no safe guidance through those boundless speculations.”
Leslie continues, concluding that light would be a natural byproduct of the gaseous chemical reactions in such a planet’s core.
”We are thus led, by a close train of induction, to the most important and striking conclusion. The great central concavity is not that dark and dreary abyss which the fancy of Poets had pictured. On the contrary, this spacious internal vault must contain the purest ethereal essence, Light in its most concentrated state, shining with intense refulgence and overpowering splednour.”
It is believed that Jules Verne’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth written in 1864 was inspired by Leslie’s work. We will discuss Journey to the Centre of the Earth later in our presentation.
John Cleves Symmes (1780-1829)
American scientist John Cleves Symmes extrapolated on Leslie’s work and proposed that the Earth must have formed in a toroidal or donut shape, with two gaping entrances at the north and south poles. Symmes’ contemporaries ridiculed his idea, suggesting that the Symmes Hole was actually just a hole in his head. Symmes also proposed a theory of concentric spheres, much like a Russian matryoshka doll, in his book Banvard’s Folly.
Symmes petitioned Congress in 1822 and 1823 to appropriate money for a polar expedition. His request was denied, and no expedition was ever launched.
Symmes’ work inspired later researchers, such as Marshall B. Gardner who authored Have the Poles Really Been Discovered in 1913.
MYTHOLOGICAL REFERENCES
In 1963, a Turkish man renovating his basement accidently discovered one of the greatest underground cities ever found. Derinkuyu in Turkey is an ancient network of underground rooms, 18 stories deep with over 15,000 ventilation shafts capable of bringing fresh air to the deepest layers. Approximately 20,000 to 30,000 men, women, and children could have occupied Derinkuyu at one time. Since stone cannot be carbon dated, it is estimated to have been built as recently as 800 BCE but many believe it was built thousands of years earlier. In perhaps the oldest underground refuge we know of, Derinkuyu houses religious centers, store rooms, wine presses, stables for livestock, and many other staples of a small city. Derinkuyu was a massive undertaking for whoever built it, equivalent perhaps to the construction of the pyramids of Egypt.
So right there, we have a clear historical example recognized by anthropologists of an entire civilization of people living deep within the Earth.
Sacred Texts and Creation Myths
However, the idea of IE civilizations also come to us from many mythological traditions, including the Toltecs, the Olmecs, the Zapotecs, the Hopi, the Vedas, the Puranas, and the Tibetan depictions of Shambhala. Even the Eskimo have legends of a “hole in the Arctic sea.” The Vikings had legends of a paradise in the North. In Plato’s Republic, we find mention of a God who sits at the center of the Earth who is responsible for Earth’s religions.
The Mayan sacred text, the Popol Vuh, speaks about Xibalba, the purportedly real underworld rumored to be in a cave system in Guatemala. India has legends of blue-skinned people who are seen near the entrances to caves. Perhaps there is some connection to their depictions of blue-skinned gods. In Egypt, they have legends of their ancestors who escaped a great cataclysm by retreating into the Earth, as highlighted by the work of Dorothy Eddy. Macuxi Indians from the borderlands of Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana believe in Aghartha, a civilization inside the Earth. The Epic of Gilgamesh, circa 2100 BC, depicts the hero Gilgamesh visiting his ancestor Utnapishtim in the bowels of the Earth. And of course, many believe Quetzcoatyl led the Mayan people underground which explains their sudden disappearance from the Earth.
The Tibetan Buddhists also have references to a vast Underground Empire populated by millions of people and ruled by a man called Rigden-jyepo and also referred to as The King of the World. The empire is called Agharta and its capital city is Shambhala. Hindu scriptures also mention a vast underworld. The Puranic narrations of the sons of Sagara and their pursuit of the sacrificial horse, as well as the narration of the appearance of the Kalki Avatar take place in the hollow portion of the Earth.
Creation myths stemming from the Zuni, Navajo, Hopi, Pueblo, and Apache tribes share Inner Earth themes. Some ancestral legends tell of their emergence from an underground world, others chronicle their escape from “falling stars” by following the snake gods or snake people deep within the Earth, and others depict the ant people who took them underground to protect them from storms of fire and ice. “Falling stars” could be a reference to an ancient war fought in the skies by advanced beings with aircraft weaponry. One could draw a mythological connection for snake people to the war of the gods in Atlantis, where advanced serpent priests were said to have been in control.
Some creation myths like the Garden of Eden have been loosely connected with IE, although the connection seems less compelling. However, as we will examine later in some of the anecdotal accounts, one such explorer claims that Eden is one of the cities in Agartha.
Journey to the Center of the Earth – Atlantis Connection
If you were like me, you read Jules Verne’s 1864 science fiction novel Journey to the Center of the Earth when you were a child and your imagination ran wild. However, something I noticed upon watching the 1959 theatrical adaptation many years ago blew my mind. When our cast of protagonists finally arrives at the center of the Earth, they literally discover the lost city of Atlantis. This was not a plot point in the original novel; it was only added in to the theatrical version.
“This is the sunken city!” Professor Lindenbrook proclaims, “After 5,000 years, men behold a fragment of the lost Atlantis.” He goes on to explicate, “All we know about it comes from the Greek. The floor of the sea opened up and swallowed the whole of Atlantis.”
Moments later, they find a temple where the Atlanteans used to worship their god.
“It’s some sort of altar stone where the sacred flame burned. It’s serpentine, isn’t it?” Alec remarks, examining a large stone decorated with gilded snakes and serpents. Apart from the obvious giveaways in the script and set, there appears to be a sub-textual symbolism regarding the main adversaries the intrepid explorers face in the inner world and in the city of Atlantis: large lizards.
For much more information regarding some of the mythology surrounding IE civilizations, I highly encourage you to watch Ancient Aliens season 2 episode 4 entitled “Underground Aliens.”
Green Children of Woolpit
Moving away from the realm of science fiction, we also have the famously intriguing putatively “true” story of the “green children of Woolpit.” HollowOrbs.com summarizes the account,
“Sometime during the 12th century, a monastic chronicler in England by the name of “Gervase of Tilbury” recorded a strange account of two “children” who suddenly appeared near a small town near Bury St. Edmunds, England. The account was also recorded in the writings of several other chroniclers who lived at the time or sometime afterwards. These include:
William of Newbury — HISTORIA RERUM ANGLICARUM, written in Yorkshire, England (1136-1198?); Abbot Ralph of Coggeshall — CHRONICON ANGLICARUM; and also the chroniclers Giraldus Cambrensis and Walsingham. The account was more recently related in FLYING
SAUCERS UNCENSORED, by Harold T. Wilkins (Citadel Press., New York, N.Y. 1955., pp. 97-98). From their combined accounts we can piece together the following bizarre story which the chroniclers swore to be true:“One warm, sunny day in the 12th century some farmers and other residents of the small town of Wolfpittes, England (some seven miles distant from the larger village of Burry St. Edmunds) were startled to see two young children wandering around, as if disoriented, in some ancient ‘pits’ or ‘trenches’ known to the locals as the ‘Wolf-Pitts’ — after which the small village had taken it’s name. These excavations were ancient, but no one seemed to know when or by whom they were dug, but the consensus was that they were at least partly artificial, and very ancient. The most shocking thing about the children, which the residents of Wolfpittes encountered, was that they had skin which was olive-green in colour, yet the rest of their features were as human as the average Englishman.
The villagers attempted to communicate with the children but were unsuccessful, as they soon discovered that the young boy and girl spoke a language which was completely unfamiliar to the villagers. The townspeople had compassion on the children and took them to the village and offered them various different kinds of food, all of which they seemed unfamiliar with and which they refused. However, when they were shown some beanstalks, they took them greedily, but instead of opening the bean-pods, the children attempted to open the stalks themselves, as if they had been accustomed to opening stalks in this way (apparently a practice they had learned in the land from which they emerged). Upon finding nothing in the stalks, the children began to weep. Unfortunately, the shock of entering our world was too much for the young boy, and even though he became partly acclimated to other forms of food, he nevertheless became weaker and weaker and finally died as few years afterwards. The young girl, however, adjusted quite well to her new surroundings. In fact she eventually grew into a mature, beautiful woman, and later married a gentleman from the nearby town of Kings Lynn. As time passed, her husband patiently instructed her in the complexities of the English language, and soon she was able to communicate fairly well, and the story she told of where she had come from and how she had arrived in our ‘world’ with her brother was even more incredible.
She told her husband that her people all had skin similar to hers, or rather similar to what her skin had once been like, as over a period of years and exposure to the outer elements the greenish tinge had left her. She described her world as a cavernous, subterranean country of enormous size, a country which went by the name of “St. Martin’s Land.” The land in which she lived was described as ‘twilight’ in nature, yet there was a large underground river, on the other side of which there was another land more brightly lit. One day, she and her brother were herding some type of underground animal when they heard something like the sound of ‘bells’ emerging from one of the cave passages or tunnels which lined the perimeter of this underground land. Out of extreme curiosity, they entered this tunnel and followed the passage upwards for what could have been a few days, although in their underground land it is probable that they did not have any concept of what ‘day’ or ‘night’ was. After their long and weary journey up the steep incline they suddenly emerged into the brilliant sunlight of the British countryside. The change from their twilight world was dramatic, and the children walked around in the pits or trenches starved, half-blinded and disoriented. They shortly afterwards attempted to re-locate the small opening through which they had emerged, but were unable to do so, because of the blinding light. At about this point the farmers found the children and took them to the village.”
Legendary Underground Temple Found
In 2007, Mexican archaeologist Guillermo De Anda found a cave entrance by following clues left behind by 17th century Spanish priests that spoke of an underground Mayan temple deep in the Mexican jungle of Tahtzibichen (ta-chi-beetzen). The cave system he discovered had been submerged under water for many centuries and require scuba diving to access them.
De Anda and his team found carved stone heads and pillars with Mayan inscriptions from 1,900 years ago. They found columns that were 5 feet high and 10 feet wide, a concrete road, a crumbled pyramid, and human bones. His discovery appears to have confirmed the existence of the fabled underground temple.
Biblical References
Some proponents of IE witl tell you that there are very clear Biblical references to its validity. I have spent a lot of time looking into this and frankly, I just don’t think anyone can make a clear case using Biblical quotes. I bring this up just to show that we are presenting both sides of the argument here and that we are staying cognizant of confirmation bias. Here are the quotes that are most often cited with regard to IE, and you can decide for yourself.
Philippians (2:10): “That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow of things in heaven, and things in Earth, and things under the Earth.”
Book of Revelations (5:3): “And no man in heaven, nor in Earth, neither under the Earth, was able to open the book, neither look thereon.”
Job (26:7): “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the Earth upon nothing.”
It seems like stretching, to say the least, that the Bible is full of clear references to IE. If it was, it doesn’t seem like it was important enough for them to provide any specificity at all. The Bible does, however, speak about the disappearance of the Ten Tribes of Israel, adding that they will one day return to us on a highway of ice.
The Law of One Series
For those of you that know of the channeled material, the Law of One series, it actually addresses the topic of IE. In the Law of One, book 3, session 60, the question was posed, “Is the Earth solid all the way through from one side to the other?”
To which, Ra answered, “I am Ra. You may say that your sphere is of an honey-comb nature. The center is, however, solid if you would so call that which is molten.
The questioner then asked, “Are there third-density entities living in the honey-comb areas? Is this correct?”
Ra responded, “I am Ra. This was at one time correct. This is not correct at this present space/time.”
The questioner then asked, “Are there any inner civilizations or entities living in these areas other than physically incarnate who do come and materialize on the Earth’s surface at some times?”
Ra responded, “I am Ra. As we have noted, there are some which do as you say. Further, there are some inner plane entities of this planet which prefer to do some materialization into third-density visible in these areas. There are also bases, shall we say, in these areas of those from elsewhere, both positive and negative. There are abandoned cities.”
The questioner asked next, “What are these bases used for by those from elsewhere?”
Ra responded, “I am Ra. These bases are used for the work of materialization of needed equipment for communication with third-density entities and for resting places for some equipment which you might call small craft. These are used for surveillance when it is requested by entities. Thus some of the, shall we say, teachers of the Confederation speak partially through these surveillance instruments along computerized lines, and when information is desired and those requesting it are of the proper vibratory level the Confederation entity itself will then speak.”
Understandably, discussion of sacred texts and channeled material is too fringe for most people. Let’s now pivot to more grounded science.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE
You might be asking yourself, “How is there any room for debate about the Earth’s composition in the 21st century?” It’s a completely legitimate question, and for those who have never looked into the subject before, it probably seems like we have all the evidence we need to prove our thesis that the Earth is solid all the way through with a molten core, case closed. In this section of our investigation, we are going to look into some of the clashing or incomplete science on the matter that leaves scientists perplexed or unsure of themselves.
Planetary Formation
Let’s begin by discussing how planets form in the first place.
The current scientific consensus regarding planetary formation is described in the nebular hypothesis, in which accretion disks form around rotating stars, which contain their own accretion disks of celestial debris. Smaller debris gravitates towards the debris with the most mass and you get a cluster that begins to “snowball.” These balls of matter are immersed in gas which can later form an atmosphere under the right conditions. Due to angular momentum, these new planets migrate into orbit a comfortable distance from their respective star.
I want to point out that advocates of Hollow Earth Theory generally accept this accretion process occurs. Up until this point, everyone is still in agreement with how planets form.
We are taught that denser substances sink toward the center of this newly formed molten planet in a process called planetary differentiation. This leads to a planetary body with a denser core and a less dense shell.
This is where Hollow Earth advocates diverge from textbook literature. It is postulated that as the outside of the new planet expands and cools faster than the core, it should theoretically slow down based on the conservation of momentum which is a combination of the first and second laws of thermodynamics. This is related to Expanding Crust Theory or Expanding Earth Theory.
Newton’s Shell Theorem
Newton’s Shell Theorem was Isaac Newton’s attempt at explaining gravitational laws inside and outside of spheres. These ideas were profoundly influential on the theories proposed at that time regarding planetary formation. He discussed what we now refer to as thin shell physics and thick shell physics.
In thin crust physics, Newton proposed that if a planet were to form with a hollow center and a thin crust around the outside, there would be no gravity on the inside of the planet because the gravity would be centered in the crust instead of the core. Theoretically, a la grange point would exist within the cavity where the gravity pulling in all directions equally would cancel each other out.
Thick crust physics was Newton’s extrapolation on thin crust physics. However, there was never any empirical data available at the time to support it and it could be flawed. Newton’s credibility was beyond reproach because his work with planetary movement theory was both impressive and accurate, so the scientific community remained deferential to Newton’s theorems and his thick crust model has remained largely unquestioned to this day.
Digging Deep
At 1,978 feet, the Vrtiglavica cave holds the world record for the largest vertical drop inside of a cave. This is taller than the 3rd tallest building on Earth at the time of this writing. If you were to fall into this naturally formed cave, it would take you 11 seconds to hit the bottom.
The deepest known cave on Earth is the Krubera cave located in Georgia. At 7,208 feet deep, or 1.4 miles deep, it extends for 8,346 miles of passageways. In 2012, Ukrainian diver Gennadiy Samokhin extended our knowledge of the depth of the cave by scuba diving an additional 52m in the terminal sump.
At 2.2 miles below the Earth’s surface, we find the deepest known multicellular organism that has been discovered alive. Halicephalobus mephisto, or devil worm, has evolved at depths scientists long thought was impossible. This nematode t has evolved to withstand unfathomable heat and pressure. Geomicrobioligst Tullis Onstott of Princeton University and nematologist Gaetan Borgonie of Belgium’s University of Ghent, who discovered the worm, used isotope dating to demonstrate that they have been living there for 3,000 – 12,000 years.
Onstott said about the discovery,
“This discovery may not surprise passionate nematologists like Gaetan, but it’s certainly shocking to me… The boundary of multicellular life has been extended significantly into our planet… People usually think only bacteria could exist below the surface of a planet like Mars. This discovery says, Hold up there! We can’t negate the thought of looking for little green worms as opposed to little green microbes.”
The deepest any humans are known to have gone underground is 2.5 miles in Mponeng gold mine in South Africa. The trip from the surface down to the bottom takes over an hour to complete using the longest elevator in the world which carries 120 miners at a time and travels at 40mph. These miners must use vehicles and travel by foot to travel the depth of 10 Empire state buildings and face temperatures of 151 degrees F. To reach the remaining gold deposits, the mine is projected to be drilled deeper than 3 miles.
To get to Earth’s core, one would have to look much, much deeper.
Cavendish Balance Experiment
The Cavendish Balance Experiment is the only way scientists estimate Earth’s mass. This experiment measures the attraction between two lead balls. Scientists extrapolate these results to a planetary scale. This is currently the only method scientists use to calculate the mass of the Earth. They believe the Earth weighs 5.972 sextillion tons.
The Cavendish Balance Experiment is based on a number of assumptions. The lead balls are electrically neutral, so it is assumed the Earth is electrically neutral. However, we know from calculations based on the Earth’s magnetic field that our planet has up to 1 billion amps running through it. It is also assumed that Earth’s electricity has no effect on its gravity, even though we know that static electricity has an attractive force in nature. The greater the static electricity, the greater the attractive force.
In the 1960s, Dr. Sexel, mentioned he had a discussion with Albert Einstein in which Einstein told him he was convinced electricity and gravity were interrelated. Dr. Sexel subsequently performed a number of experiments with electrically charged pendulums to investigate Einstein’s theory. Although Dr. Sexel’s work remains unfinished, he did produce some very strange findings in his experiments.
The point this is getting at, is that if there indeed exists a quantifiable relationship between Earth’s electricity and its gravity, then the Cavendish Balance Experiment is irrelevant on a macrocosmic scale for calculating planetary masses, and the Earth may weigh much more or much less than our textbooks currently describe.
There are some HE proponents who claim that Earth’s center of gravity is actually in the crust – however, this is simply unverifiable. No evidence exists that I was able to find that corroborates this claim, although there is another curious phenomenon regarding Earth’s lagrangian point. A lagrange point is location of equidistance in relation to gravity between two bodies of mass where the gravity from each body becomes neutral. This is where we currently park satellites because they experience the least amount of gravity there.
Theoretically, a lagrange point is measured from the center of gravity of object to the center of gravity in the other object. Interestingly, Earth’s lagrangian point is approximately 1,200 km short. The center of Earth’s gravity is not in the center of our planet which you would expect with a more or less spherical object.
Seismology
The way in which we have drawn conclusions about the composition of the Earth’s layers is by interpreting seismological data.
In 2003, Jan Lemprecht presented at the Nexus Conference (18m40s – 37m) on his feasibility study of a hollow planet model and how seismology would theoretically work. Surprisingly, his model seemed to resolve many of the inconsistencies that seismologists had been grappling with and also improved on existing theories pertaining to a solid earth model.
The presentation is an hour long and contains a preponderance of evidence, that is far too much to go into here. Suffice to say, it is really worth looking into.
Underground Oceans Discovered
On February 28, 2007, it was reported by LiveScience.com that a massive underground ocean was discovered deep within the Earth. The same website published a follow up to this article on June 12, 2014 and estimated that the ocean was between 255 to 410 miles below the Earth’s surface.
On November 25, 2016, the Daily Mail published an article with yet another update on the underground ocean, stating that the water could be as far as 620 miles below the surface and stated that without it, the surface of the planet would be dramatically different and it could be playing a major role in sustaining the right conditions for biological life on the surface of the planet by facilitating mantle convection. Researchers said that the water could amount for as much as 1.5% of the weight of the planet.
While the specific details of the findings are still being analyzed and contested by various scientists, it goes to show that there is still no consensus on Earth’s composition and discoveries still waiting to be made.
In a parallel study, researchers at the Northwestern University of Illinois analyzed an anomalous diamond which formed in the lower mantle 90 million years prior. The diamond was pushed out by a volcano in Brazil. It contained hydroxyl ions within, demonstrating that the diamond formed in the presence of liquid water.
Air Flow Anomalies
On May 12, 1990, Richard Monastersky published a study in Science News entitled South Pole’s ‘hot’ snow: Chernobyl source?. In his study, he demonstrated how ice core samples taken at the South Pole contained alarming levels of the unique radioactive isotope cesium-137 that could be traced directly to the Chernobyl disaster because it does not form in nature.
Because scientists know the rate at which snowfall accumulates on the South Pole, it is easy for them to read the layers of an ice core sample just like arborists read the rings on a fallen tree. This allowed the scientists to deduce that the radioactive snow fell just 20 months after the date of the Chernobyl disaster.
This radioactive deposition would not be a great mystery if it weren’t for one important detail. Meteorologists know very well the specific wind patterns in the atmosphere. Wind currents carry air from each respective pole to the equator and back to the same pole in perpetuity. Air is virtually exclusive to each hemisphere and rarely does air from the North cross the tropospheric weather patterns located at the equator, and vice versa. The only exceptions to this rule are volcanoes and nuclear explosions that spew debris through the atmospheric barrier at the base of the stratosphere.
Scientists are completely puzzled how radiation somehow managed to reach the South Pole, defying prevailing wind currents, in just 20 months, without leaving any traces along the way. Some say the most compelling theory is that it could have traveled to the North Pole, gone through the air cavities within the center of the planet, only to then be deposited in Antarctica.
Strange Migratory Patterns of Birds
In the early 1800s, Sir James Clark Ross located the magnetic North Pole.
According to Britanica.com,
“Between 1819 and 1827 Ross accompanied Sir William E. Parry’s Arctic voyages. On the second Arctic expedition of his uncle, Sir John Ross, he located the north magnetic pole on June 1, 1831. His own Antarctic expedition of 1839–43 was undertaken to conduct magnetic observations and to reach the south magnetic pole.”
On one of his expeditions, Ross discovered a small gull in the North seas which he called the Ross gull. The top ornithologists around the world agree that the Ross gull migrates north in the winter. Ornithologists are unclear, however, where exactly it goes to nest because the conditions are too forbidding to follow them and we are unable to track them because there are no satellites over the North Pole that can pick up a signal from a transponder, although this method has been tried unsuccessfully many times. This seemingly insignificant question has puzzled ornithologists for decades because the size of the bird is not exactly built for long distance travel and it must be flying somewhere warm to lay its eggs.
On April 11 2015, researchers from the High Arctic Gull Research Group published a report in the quarterly journal of British Ornithologists’ Union that the Ross gulls’ elusive breeding ground had finally been determined. However, if you read the report, the researchers even admit that less than 1% of the birds can ever be accounted for in the winter.
In 1964, Dr. Raymond Bernard wrote The Hollow Earth. In it, beginning on page 31, he discusses animals that migrate to the extreme North in the winter such as the musk-ox. He also describes anomalous depositions of Wooly Mammoth and mastodon fossils in Siberia, including whole Mammoth bodies found frozen in the ice. He describes accounts of explorers, such as Dr. Fritjof-Nansen who, in 1894, claim to have discovered a tropical paradise somewhere just beyond the North Pole.
The Norwood Review of England, in its issue of May 10, 1884, said,
“We do not admit that there is ice up to the Pole – once inside the great ice barrier, a new world breaks upon the explorer, the climate is mild like that of England, and, afterward, balmy as the Greek Isles.”
Aurora Borealis Anomalies
Hollow Earth proponents believe the Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights, are evidence of a central sun.
In an article submitted in 1992 to the Journal for History and Astronomy, the author wrote,
“In later life, when Savilian Professor of Geometry at Oxford, Halley together with much of north-west Europe witnessed an extraordinary aurora borealis display, on 6 March 1716, visible even in the daytime. Halley was requested to compose a commentary upon this strange phenomenon for the Royal Society’s journal. Halley had never before witnessed an aurora, in his sixty years as an astronomer (35). After discussing certain magnetic aspects to this phenomenon, he suggested that it might be due to inherently luminous matter inside the Earth emerging through fissures in the North Pole. This substance, he explained, would “transude through and penetrate the Cortex of our Earth” and then spread through the atmosphere as the aurora. He could explain why the luminous vapour would only “transude” in the polar region (36). It was because, as Newton had shown, the Earth was a flattened sphere, and so its shell would therefore be thinnest at the poles. Halley’s portrait at 80 years of age as Astronomer Royal in 1736 shows him holding a diagram of the hollow Earth.”
An article on BibliotecaPleyades.net summarizes,
“Just as there are polar lights from Mars, Venus and Mercury, coming from their central suns shining through their polar openings, so Gardner claims, the same occurs in the case of our own planet, the polar lights which it gives off being the aurora borealis, which is not due to magnetism but to the earth’s central sun.
Gardner presents the following theory of the origin of the Aurora Borealis:
“Why have scientists never compared the facts of the light cap of Mars with the light that plays over our own polar regions? Do they forget that the auroral display has been observed to take place without any reference to the changing of the magnetic needle? And if the aurora is shown to be independent of magnetic conditions, what else can it be due to than a source of light? Is not the reflection of the aurora light from the higher reaches of the atmosphere comparable to the projection of the light of the Martian caps into the higher reaches of the Martian atmosphere? And how do scientists explain the fact that the aurora is only distinctly seen in the very far north and only seen in a fragmentary way when we get further south?”
Gardner concludes that the aurora borealis is due to the central sun shining through the polar orifice on the night sky; and the variations in the streamers of light are due to passing clouds in the interior, which, in their movements, cut off the light of the central sun and cause the reflection on the sky to keep changing. That the aurora is not due to magnetism or electrical discharges is proven by many observations of Arctic explorers showing there is no disturbance of the compass nor crackling sounds that accompany electrical discharges, when the aurora is most intense.
Gardner says:
“There are some other considerations which show that the aurora is really due to the interior sun. Dr. Kane, in his account of his explorations, tells us that the aurora is brightest when it is white. That shows that when the reflection of the sun is so clear that the total white light is reflected, we get a much brighter effect than when the light is cut up into prismatic colors. In the latter case the atmosphere is damp and dense (in the interior of the earth) – that being the cause of the rainbow effect – and through such an atmosphere one cannot see so much. Hence the display is not so bright as it is when the atmosphere is clear and the light not broken up.
“Again, if the aurora is the reflection of the central sun, we should expect to see it fully only near the polar orifice, and see only faint glimpses of its outer edges as we went further south. And that is precisely what is the actual fact of the matter.”
Says Dr. Nicholas Senn in his book, “In the Heart of the Arctics:”
“`The aurora, which only occasionally is seen in our latitudes, is but the shadow of what it is to be seen in the polar region.’
“The aurora is not a magnetic or electrical disturbance but simply a dazzling reflection from the rays of the central sun. For if it warms continents and waters in the interior of the earth, if, as we have seen, birds have their feeding and breeding grounds there, if an occasional log or seed or pollen-like dust is seen in the Arctic that came from some such unknown place as we have described, it ought to be possible to obtain enough evidence of such life.”
Dr. Brooks Agnew also has something interesting to add regarding NASA’s conclusions around the Aurora Borealis. Here is an excerpt from an interview he did with Red Ice Radio. (Segment begins at 35m into the interview.)
CONSPIRATORIAL CLUES
In the age of conspiracies, the online community has taken quite a liking to the IE theory. Whether it revolves around governments covering up evidence or seeding disinformation like Flat Earth conjecture, or the abundance of UFOs seen coming or going from the oceans or holes in the ground, or whether it has to do with the Cabal forming an alliance with malevolent underground reptilian groups, there is a multitude of theories as to the existence of IE civilizations.
The Data Denial Implementation Plan
In 2006, an international treaty called the Data Denial Implementation Plan was passed creating a blacklist of organizations that will not be granted access to weather-satellite data from America’s and Europe’s polar-orbiting satellites. The Eumestat organization (which is the European version of the NOAA) represents an 18-nation treaty to block the sharing of photos or videos of the polar regions with members of the public or any institution they deem inappropriate. This includes any and all images above the 60th parallel. Google Earth is largely animated above the 60th parallel.
“The Eumetsat-NOAA data-denial agreement involves the U.S. Defense Department because the U.S. military and NOAA are merging their weather-satellite systems. This merger has given U.S. defense authorities a seat at the negotiating table, as longtime partners NOAA and Eumetsat set the boundaries of who can be refused data in a U.S.-declared emergency.”
Maps of Caverns in US Denied by FOIA Requests
According to the National Park Service, maps detailing the locations of all known caves in the United States are denied by FOIA requests. IE proponents assert that this seems to point to a further clamp-down on information that could reveal IE entrances, bases, and other evidence.
Additionally, exploring “wild” caves in the United States requires approval permits. Failure to obtain said permit can result in fines or arrest. The reasons given by the National Park Service are for visitor safety, to minimize disturbances to cave flora and fauna, to avoid litter, and to avoid contamination from infections. These are all valid reasons, of course, but some people insist there is superseding reason for these restrictions.
Mysterious Death of Inner Earth Expedition Members
In 2006, Steven Currey mounted an enormous exploration to the North Pole to acquire scientific data on the curvature of the ocean, floor samples off the sea bottom, tectonic plate movement, earth magnetism measurements, etc.
Steven Currey, an accomplished expedition leader, started the initial momentum for the project by selling seats to civilians as if the Russian nuclear-powered ice breaker was a cruise liner. They decided to launch the expedition in the summer of 2007. During preparations for departure, very suddenly Stephen Currey passed away with rapid onset brain cancer. Since Currey had been team leader, Professor Brooks Agnew was appointed his successor.
Professor Agnew renamed the expedition to the North Pole Inner Earth Expedition. Agnew decided to return the funds to the individuals who had purchased seats on the ship and instead attract investors to fund the venture and stack the ship’s crew with scientists. Several universities stepped forward to fund the expedition and it was postponed for a summer 2012 departure.
Agnew traveled to Tibet and filmed a short documentary to generate funds and help promote the expedition. He also appeared on a number of radio shows to discuss the undertaking, and word of his project quickly spread around the world. The team was comprised of approximately 100 scientists, ice divers, seismologists, historians, documentary filmmakers, photographers, helicopter pilots, and much more. They were going to film the entire expedition in both visible light and infrared. The ship was equipped with a precision gyroscope as well as radar instrumentation. This was a legitimate scientific expedition.
On a Red Ice Radio interview, when asked if there was any suspicion of foul play revolving around Steven Currey’s sudden death, Professor Agnew replied,
“You know, there are always questions about this. I spoke to Stephen in November. He was fine. He were in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he lives, and all the plans were going forward, we had lots of excitement, lots of momentum, we had raised a little over a quarter of a million dollars which was a good start on the expedition, and five minutes later he was dead. He didn’t have a health problem in the world. This was a healthy, vibrant, family man with a great reputation – a great Earth explorer. And rapid onset brain cancer – I guess that’s the way it comes on but it sure seemed strange to us at the time.” (9 minutes into interview)
According to an update on the expedition by Rodney M. Cluff, the voyage was eventually canceled due to numerous setbacks.
“Finally, [Brooks Agnew] found a sponsor, a New York film company that agreed to make our expedition their project for 2013. In January 2013, Dr. Agnew called the New York film company to arrange for them to put a down payment on chartering the Russian Nuclear icebreaker that was to take us into the Arctic. But no-one answered the phone. He sent someone to their address and their offices were found vacated and were unable to find where they had gone. Finally, that fall on September 8, 2013, Dr. Agnew submitted his resignation as expedition leader. He said the largest stockholder of his start-up electric car company withdrew all his money citing the reason being that Dr. Agnew was involved in our expedition. Because of this, Dr. Agnew felt he could no longer afford to lead our expedition effort.”
Professor Brooks Agnew appeared most recently on Gaia.com’s Beyond Belief with George Noory in September of 2014 – an interview definitely worth watching.
Admiral Richard E. Byrd
On May 9, 1926, Admiral Richard E. Byrd and Navy Chief Aviation Pilot Floyd Bennett achieved the first flight over the North Pole. The flight lasted 15 hours 57 minutes, including 13 minutes of circling the pole.
Admiral Byrd was known for keeping meticulous diaries of his adventures. However, many ostensible versions of a “secret diary” exist that are attributed to Byrd and are claimed to contain confessions of a visit inside the polar opening to what he described as “the solar garden.” The unfortunate thing about a secret diary is that there is no way to prove that its contents are authentic, or that Byrd even wrote it. Many believe it is a forgery.
The diary, which contains entries ranging from 1947-1956, contains extraordinary experiences shedding light on his journey into the planet. He was apparently welcomed by IE inhabitants who live to roughly 800 years old and are very technologically advanced, in a place called Arianni, and was warned about mankind’s use of atomic bombs which alarmed them.
Floyd Bennett, Byrd’s copilot, has apparently fanned the flames of mystery surrounding the story. Before Bennett’s death in 1928, he had begun a memoir that included numerous interviews – all of which confirmed Byrd’s version of the story.
Years later, on August 26 1946, Byrd was reassigned to Operation Highjump, a covert mission to establish a military research base in Antarctica named Little America IV. The mission involved 4,700 men, 13 ships, and 33 aircraft. For this reason and the fact that Byrd was a Freemason, many speculate about the true intentions of his Antarctic expedition.
Third Reich Went Underground
There is much speculation and click bait on the Internet that subsequent to WWII, the Third Reich explored Antarctica and even created secret bases in Neuschwabenland. Ostensibly, a map belonging to the Third Reich was discovered in which there are several secret passages depicted which were used by German U-Boats to access mysterious underground regions, as well as a complete map of both hemispheres and the mysterious kingdom of Agartha.
Apparently, a letter has surfaced, supposedly written by Karl Unger, who was aboard the German U-Boat 209, commanded by Heinrich Brodda, in which he states that the crew had reached the interior of the Earth and that they had decided to stay. There is not a whole lot of compelling evidence on this Third Reich segment of the story, but we decided to mention it because, like we said, there is a lot of click bait on the Internet surrounding this thread.
Soviet-Sponsored Expedition to Find Hollow Earth Kingdom
In December of 1923, the Soviets sponsored a scientific-archaeological expedition aimed at discovering the entrance to the underground lost city of Shambhala. The expedition was headed by Nicholas and Helena Roerich, two Russian expatriates traveling under a U.S. flag. The cover story for their expedition was that they were cataloguing the art and culture of Central Asia for the first time.
According to AtlasObscura.com,
“What sounds like the plot of a particularly imaginative novel, has been extensively supported by scholars of modern Russia and early 20th century history. According to independent research by Richard Spence, Markus Osterrieder and Andrei Znamenski, several other world governments—China, Mongolia, Japan, Great Britain—took an interest in the hidden city, too. One of the reasons was an ancient Mongolian-Tibetan prophecy which, in the explosive political climate of the early 20th century, sounded convincing enough to turn some heads.
The Chinese and Russian governments in particular knew that among the peoples of central Asia, belief in the Kingdom of Shambhala was strong. Whoever managed to identify themselves with the forces of good, would gain the support of the surrounding peoples and thus gain control of the area. Once this was understood, several states became very interested in unearthing the underground kingdom.
Most of the officials intended to use Shambhala’s discovery for propaganda purposes, but some genuinely believed that they could also gain access to the hidden kingdom’s mystical weapons. One powerful man who truly believed in the prophecy was Gleb Bokii, a leader of the Cheka, the USSR’s Secret Police.
Bokii genuinely thought that the hidden city would offer him access to advanced weapons and mind controlling techniques, and managed to convince his superiors that the quest was worth looking into. The newly established USSR was receptive to the idea: even if there was no mystic armory to be found, if they managed to identify themselves with the hidden kingdom, they could enlist the help of Buddhists and nationalists in Mongolia and Tibet, thus strengthening their position in Central Asia.
After that, the Roerichs and their son trekked back to India. The closest they had gotten to Shambhala, according to Nicholas’ travel diaries, was in the Altai Mountains, in the valley of Uimon, when an “Old Believer” proudly showed them the entrance to the subterranean kingdom, now barred with stones. The true denizens of Shambhala would return, he assured the Roerichs, in the glorious time of human purification. Till then, the rest of humanity would only hear the echoes of their chanting.”
The articles adds,
“However, the scientific worth of their expedition cannot be underestimated: no matter their motives, they had trekked miles of unchartered lands, unearthed lost artifacts and catalogued flora and fauna previously unknown to the West. Despite the controversy surrounding his name, Nicholas would garner three Nobel Peace Prize nominations, and also establish the Roerich pact, an inter-American treaty protecting cultural artifacts in times of conflict; the Roerichs even had a planet named after them in 1969.”
ANECDOTAL ACCOUNTS
We’re now going to explore some anecdotal accounts which lack empirical evidence. Although the majority of ostensible knowledge comes to us anecdotally from individuals contained in this section of our presentation, we will not dwell for very long on each account. As compelling and detailed as some of these accounts are, they are not particularly useful to us in building a strong case for IE. Of course, there are many written accounts that we are not including here either for superfluity or incredulity. As Coast to Coast AM host Art Bell came to learn on October 4, 2002 with his guest who may have suffered brain damage in a car accident, not all who claim knowledge of IE are that credible. We have chosen to include only those that contribute to the overall depth of our analysis.
Corey Goode
Corey Goode, if his testimony is to be believed, is perhaps the highest ranking whistleblower to ever step forward and disclose his knowledge from within the SSP, or Secret Space Program. At the age of 6, Corey was inducted into the military abduction program, also known as MILAB, after he was identified as an intuitive empath. He remained in the MILAB program until he was 17. At 18, he joined the Secret Space Program, another military black op. He visited bases on the moon and Mars, amongst many other classified locations. He has an ongoing relationship with various ET groups and claims to have even visited Inner Earth. Corey Goode has a shown on Gaia TV, where he has recorded 8 seasons of episodes at the time of this recording, comprising a wealth of information on a variety of classified subjects.
All of this and much more will be documented in his upcoming book The Case for a Secret Space Program, coauthored by Dr. Wood, Dr. Salla, and the late William Tompkins – all of whom have corroborating testimonies regarding their respective involvement in classified off-world government programs.
Corey Good has spoken extensively on the subject of IE, and he even has a condensed 90 minute presentation that he gave called Hollow Earth vs Honeycomb Earth & Inner Earth Civilizations which is available on YouTube.
To summarize Goode’s description of IE civilizations, there are various groups inhabiting disparate sections within the planet. There are 3 main categories: refugee extraterrestrials, human breakaway civilizations, and indigenous groups.
Goode describes 7 predominant sentient lifeforms. There are diminutive albino humanoids, tall black reptilians, short reptoids, tall white telepathic reptilians known as the Draco Royals, elephant-like humanoids called Darrow, a bird-like group called the Raptors which appear to be a holdover race that evolved from survived velociraptors, and the race that most closely resembles us, known as the Anshar. The Anshar have extremely long lifespans, living for over a thousand years. The Anshar are the most peaceful, whereas the Raptors and reptilians are carnivorous and bellicose.
Among the Anshar, there exist 7 separate races that have allied themselves against the surface cabal that some refer to as the Illuminati or the New World Order. They are referred to as the Human Inner Earth Alliance and they typically do not work together. It is comprised of an Asian-looking group that wear a Saturn symbol amulet, a Caucasian-looking group with blonde hair that wear the same Saturn amulet, a Greek-looking group that wear a 5 pointed star, a Caucasian-looking group that wear a Venus amulet, an Indian-looking group that wear a Swastika amulet, an African-looking group that wear an hourglass amulet, and a Nordic-looking group that wear a Saturn symbol amulet. These groups spoke an ancient pre-Acadian language.
Goode also explains that humans have sought refuge many times through Earth’s history underground. There are also cases throughout history when Anshar groups who wished to “protect their investment” brought humans from the surface within the earth to preserve their lives as a direct result of their ongoing genetic experiments on humans.
According to Goode, these subterranean worlds are rife with by bioluminescent plants, fungi, and bacteria that produce oxygen and light by breaking down minerals in cave walls to produce an environment conducive for larger organisms. These are limited mostly to blind and albino creatures, as one would expect. However, some cavities are so large and vast that entire forests and jungles replete with animals we would recognize can be found there.
It is worth noting that these underground cities are more technologically advanced than our own. The inhabitants travel on anti-gravity craft called the Silver Fleet and have the ability to generate light through a generating a frequency in a room almost like wi-fi, rathan than by using light bulbs. They use aquaponics farming and focus on cultivating the life-force of crops, not just the nutrition.
Richard Shaver
It is worth noting that a potential connection could be drawn between Corey Goode’s description of the Darrow and Richard Shaver’s account of the Tero, same pronunciation but different spelling. Richard Shaver rose to prominence in the 1940s over his putative 8 year stint held captive by IE denizens. Later denounced for having symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia, Shaver’s story nonetheless sparked a national craze over what became known as the Shaver mysteries.
“He achieved notoriety in the years following World War II as the author of controversial stories that were printed in science fiction magazines (primarily Amazing Stories), in which he claimed that he had had personal experience of a sinister, ancient civilization that harbored fantastic technology in caverns under the earth. The controversy stemmed from the claim by Shaver, and his editor and publisher Ray Palmer, that Shaver’s writings, while presented in the guise of fiction, were fundamentally true. Shaver’s stories were promoted by Ray Palmer as “The Shaver Mystery.”
During the last decades of his life, Shaver devoted himself to “rock books”—stones that he believed had been created by the advanced ancient races and embedded with legible pictures and texts. He produced paintings based on the rock images and photographed the rock books extensively, as well as writing about them.”
TokenRock.com summarizes some of Shaver’s claims,
“He contended that the Elder Race, or Titans, came to this planet from another solar system in our prehistoric past. After a time of living on the surface, they realized our sun was causing them to age prematurely, so they escaped underground, building huge subterranean complexes in which to live. Eventually, they decided to seek a new home on a new planet, evacuating the Earth and leaving behind their underground cities populated by artificial beings: the evil Dero – detrimental robots – and the good Tero – integrated robots. It was these beings that Shaver claimed to have met.”
Olaf Jansen
Perhaps one of the most captivating books written about a purported journey to the center of the Earth, as it were, is The Smoky God authored by Willis George Emerson in 1908. I personally read this book twice a long time ago and it was one of the catalysts for me to research IE extensively at a young age. At the beginning of the book, we find ourselves in the grip of a nervous author describing how a man named 95 year old man, Olaf Jansen, confided in him a secret and a special request upon his death bed.
Emerson explains how he came to know Jansen , a Norwegian fisherman with quite a tall tale to share.
Jansen was born on October 27, 1811. On April 3, 1829 at the age of 19, he set sail with his father in a small fishing sloop heading north from Stockholm, Sweden, passing Franz Josef Land. The story recounts harrowing nautical encounters with icebergs and harsh weather. Approximately 5 months after departure, Jansen and his father arrived in a strange land with 12 foot tall humans, electricity (which had not been invented yet), and
Jansen and his father were treated cordially as guests, taken to a city named Jehu by a man named Jules Galdea. Gold was used as liberally as we use aluminum.
Jansen recounts,
“I never saw such a display of gold. It was everywhere. The door-casings were inlaid and the tables were veneered with sheetings of gold. Domes of the public buildings were of gold. It was used most generously in the finishings of the great temples of music.
Vegetation grew in lavish exuberance, and fruit of all kinds possessed the most delicate flavor. Clusters of grapes four and five feet in length, each grape as large as an orange, and apples larger than a man’s head typified the wonderful growth of all things on the “inside” of the earth.
The great redwood trees of California would be considered mere underbrush compared with the giant forest trees extending for miles and miles in all directions. In many directions along the foothills of the mountains vast herds of cattle were seen during the last day of our travel on the river.
We heard much of a city called “Eden,” but were kept at “Jehu” for an entire year. By the end of that time we had learned to speak fairly well the language of this strange race of people. Our instructors, Jules Galdea and his wife, exhibited a patience that was truly commendable.
One day an envoy from the Ruler at “Eden” came to see us, and for two whole days my father and myself were put through a series of surprising questions. They wished to know from whence we came, what sort of people dwelt “without,” what God we worshiped, our religious beliefs, the mode of living in our strange land, and a thousand other things.
In this garden four rivers have their source in a mighty artesian fountain. They divide and flow in four directions. This place is called by inhabitants the “navel of the earth,” or the beginning, “the cradle of the human race.” The names of the rivers are the Euphrates, the Pison, the Gihon, and the Hiddekel.”
Now, we will return to our excerpt in just a moment, but as a side note, we can draw some parallels here with the Book of Enoch.
In the Book of Enoch (76:6-7) we read,
“Seven rivers I beheld upon Earth, greater than all rivers, one of which takes its course from the west; into a great sea its water flows. Two come from the north to the sea, their waters flowing into the Erythraean sea, on the east, And with respect to the remaining four, they take their course in the cavity of the North, two to their sea, the Erythraean sea, and two are poured into a great sea, where also it is said there is a desert.”
On the topic of IE culture, Jansen continues,
“We learned that the males do not marry before they are from seventy-five to one hundred years old, and that the age at which women enter wedlock is only a little less, and that both men and women frequently live to be from six to eight hundred years old, and in some instances much older.”
The people are exceedingly musical, and learned to a remarkable degree in their arts and sciences, especially geometry and astronomy. Their cities are equipped with vast palaces of music, where not infrequently as many as twenty-five thousand lusty voices of this giant race swell forth in mighty choruses of the most sublime symphonies. The children are not supposed to attend institutions of learning before they are twenty years old. Then their school life begins and continues for thirty years, ten of which are uniformly devoted by both sexes to the study of music.
Their principal vocations are architecture, agriculture, horticulture, the raising of vast herds of cattle, and the building of conveyances peculiar to that country, for travel on land and water. By some device which I cannot explain, they hold communion with one another between the most distant parts of their country, on air currents.”
Jansen explains how he and his father had sailed through an opening near the North Pole and exited through a hole near the South Pole. They faced the same treacherous icy conditions near Antarctica as they did in the Arctic.
After 4 years and 8 months away since his original departure, Jansen reached Stockholm, Sweden where he reunited with his uncle. After some time, he confided his story to uncle and insisted that they raise capital to mount another expedition. Shortly thereafter, his uncle arranged to have Jansen confined to a mental institution where he remained for 28 years until he was released on October 17, 1862. He then moved to Los Angeles on March 4, 1901 and lived out the rest of his days quietly as a recluse until a chance encounter with Emerson, the book’s narrator, 27 years later.
Billie Woodard
Perhaps the most bizarre story that comes to us about IE is the account of Colonel Billie Faye Woodard. This is about as far-fetched as it gets, but it’s worth our time exploring the claims.
Retired Colonel Billie Faye Woodard and twin sister, Zuria were ostensibly born inside our hollow earth, and delivered to outer earth on September 18, 1951.
In 1963, at the age of 12, Billie claims he agreed to board a UFO and was taken to the polar opening at the North Pole and traveled into the cavity of the planet. He claims that he met Amelia Earhart and other pilots that vanished from the surface. He claims to have seen pterodactyls and tyrannosaurus rex. He also claims that the animals and plants can communicate telepathically with humans. He claims that his body and immune system were fortified with special beverages. He says he met the Lemurians, insectoids, His story closely matches Olaf Jansen’s testimony.
Billie certainly has some outrageous claims that are unverifiable, but let’s look at some of the surrounding details of his life.
Billie and his sister were both born hermaphrodites, they were both witnessed speaking an extinct language at age 5 by adults including a professor of ancient languages at the University of Texas, Billie began working at Area 51 at age 13, and remained there for 11.5 years and traveled to IE 3 times through passage tunnels beneath Area 51. His mission was to interact with IE peoples and report back to his superiors.
According to Billie, both Hollow Earth Theory and Honeycomb Earth Theory are true. The crust and upper mantle of the planet is riddled with cavities that contain civilizations as well as a gaping cavity at the center of the Earth that is accessible through polar openings.
According to an interview hosted by Rodney M. Cluff,
“Billie says that the shell of the earth is from 800 to 850 miles thick, and that the center of gravity is about halfway between the outer and inner surfaces of the earth’s shell, and that the inner surface gravity is a little less than one-third the outer surface gravity which allows for the larger stature of the hollow earth people, or any surface people that go to the hollow earth and stay there for a length of time.
When Billie arrived at the hollow earth inner surface, they emerged from the shuttle station at the hollow earth capitol City of Eden, the main city of the hollow earth. It is built around and within the original Garden of Eden on the highest mountain plateau of the inner continent and estimates it is located under the State of Arkansas or close to. Billie says that the world inside our earth has one continent and one ocean, but that there is more land inside the earth than on the exterior surface.
Billie agrees completely with the Olaf Jansen story, who were Norwegian fishermen that sailed through the North Polar Opening north east of Franz Josef Land, in 1829 — that the hollow earth is exactly as Olaf described in his book, The Smoky God — because Billie has been there and seen what it is like.”
There is a two-part 3 hour interview with Billie available on YouTube which helps to shed light on more of his claims, as well as demonstrating just how idiosyncratic and strange he truly is. We will leave it up to you to decide for yourself if he is lying or not.
John Uri Lloyd
This section would be incomplete without mentioning John Uri Lloyd’s 1895 book Etidorpha, or, the End of the Earth: the Strange History of a Mysterious Being and the Account of a Remarkable Journey. Widely regarded as a work of science fiction, this book would later be translated into seven languages and would go through 18 editions including later ones with illustrations.
This book, which is purports to be a real manuscript of Llewllyn Drury’s encounter with a strange humanoid named “I-Am-The-Man,” has risen to the top of IE fame. Virtually everyone who has researched the topic inevitably learns of the Etidorpha, which is an anagram for Aphrodite.
The manuscript recounts the first-person memoirs of the being named I-Am-The-Man, reflecting back on events 30 years prior involving Freemasonry and secret societies, kidnapping, conspiracy, metaphysics, and IE. It is undoubtedly worth a read, as it is at the very least a wildly entertaining story that will capture your imagination and never let it go.
Final Thoughts
So, you’ve heard the science, the mythology, the conspiracies, and the anecdotal accounts. What do you think? Are IE civilizations possible? Are they real? Do you believe in Hollow Earth, Honeycomb Earth, or like Billie Woodard, do you believe in both? Is this all just a bunch of pseudo-scientific conspiracy trash that we should relegate to the tin-foil-hat-wearing vermin of the deep web? Is this disinformation intended to distract the gullible from uncovering deeper truths within government, rather than deep within the planet?
Inner Earth is a whimsical subject that evokes childlike wonder – undoubtedly, it is an irresistible topic that is grander than many conspiracies, wilder than all fairy tales, and larger in implication than many cover-ups. If it was composed solely of patchwork anecdotes, it would be easily dismissible. However, it is the combination of scientific evidence, written and verbal testimonies, conspiratorial motives, mythological references and folklore, and endorsements from some of the greatest minds in various fields of study that keep this enigma alive in the counterculture.
As with all great mysteries, the exploration into Inner Earth is an exploration into Inner Self. Our imaginations are stretched, our beliefs challenged, our identities threatened, and our discernment sharpened. We are called upon to investigate Truth which comes with the opportunity for Growth. Inner Earth represents a figurative Cambellian underworld that the hero character within all of us must traverse to triumph against evil and learn a great lesson. Is it possible man has been looking in the wrong direction? Perhaps instead of looking up to the skies, man should be looking down toward the ground. Perhaps man should be looking inward, instead of outward.
Perhaps the Inner Earth mystery both captivates and paralyzes us because it represents how we may have overlooked something so grand at our cores, and how we have effectively “moved on” with our search for Understanding. We now look to the furthest reaches of the multiverse for Meaning when we have completely blundered our Understanding of the fundamentals. We have dissected the atom to the smallest component without first dissecting disinformation from the high priests in academia and establishment science.
What if man has prided himself on a blunder? Is man capable of admitting he was wrong, disavowing his accolades, and starting over?
Man often begins his journey by presuming he is at the cutting edge by virtue of his place in the vicissitudes of history, rather than testing the intellectual foundations poured for him by his predecessors. Trusting our predecessors is a necessary faculty developed in infancy because without assistance, babies would perish in their helplessness. Man enters the world gullible in his nescience, taking the authorities at their word to formulate his view of reality. A psychosis in certain segments of the population seeks to distort reality and prevaricate to the gullible. The grander the deception, the more power the megalomaniacs have over man.
Just as an infant learns to trust, it learns to abhor loneliness. Helplessness is a death sentence in a lonely environment. Man has learned to abhor loneliness before he took his first steps, and yet loneliness is all man has ever known as a species. The mythological zeitgeist of modernity as it is portrayed in cinema is one of malevolent extraterrestrials challenging Earthlings to unite and overcome great odds. Perhaps we have flipped the script. Perhaps some of our fellow humans have been malevolent to us, and the prospect of another intelligent species is precisely the emotional challenge we need to unite and overcome great odds.
